"The Southern Route" - suggested itinerary

   Day 1

   Arrive in Antananarivo. Transferred to your hotel.

   Overnight Antananarivo.


   Day 2

   Drive to Antsirabe, stopping at the town of Ambatolampy on the way to visit local metal artisans.

   In the afternoon visit the crater lakes of Andraikiba and Tritriva.

   Overnight at Antsirabe - the home of thermal springs.

Day 3

This morning proceed to Ranomafana, stopping on the way to visit the wood-carving
centre of Ambositra. In the afternoon arrive and Ranomafana National Park.

Day 4

This morning undertake a walking tour inside the National Park. Ranomafana is
considered the jewel of Madagascar's Parks and never fails to deliver stunning
natural history experiences.

Later in the day travel just 70 kms to the city of Fianarantsoa for an afternoon
city tour. This is one of the most scenic cities in the country and seeing the sun set
over the hive of activity will be one of your best Madagascar memories.

Day 5

Leaving Fianarantsoa you will first stop at the Anteimoro Paper Factory - a traditional
handicrafts using plants to create paper ... and much more.

Later you will stop at Anja Park - a reserve for Ring-tail Lemurs created and managed
by the local community to preserve their heritage.

This afternoon travel on through the plateaus to Isalo National Park, one of the best
landscapes in Madagascar.

Day 6

Today spend the whole day exploring Isalo on foot. Endemic plants and a variety of
wildlife are found here, which adds to the stunning beauty of the area.

Day 7

This morning continue your journey south towards Toliara, stopping just before the city to visit Mr Petignat's Arboretum, where the unqiue spiny forests of the south can be seen and understood.

Later travel on to the village of Ifaty and enjoy some rest on a relaxing beach alongside the Mozambique Channel. (or extend your stay for a few days....)

Day 8

Later today return to Toliara city for your flight back to Antananarivo. Transferred to your Hotel.

Day 9

Morning free before transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
